« 32 » Riverhead Sound Research Session guitar pickup upgrade
1st March 2011
After about 20 years of thinking about it, the Session guitar gets a pickup upgrade from the 'el cheapo' made in Japan stock 80's pickups, to a Seymour Duncan SH-4B humbucker in the bridge.

« 33 » New PRS SE Torero Guitar
31st January 2011
Richard orders a new guitar and it finally arrived - a Paul Reed Smith Torero.
The SE Torero features several firsts for PRS — a Floyd Rose bridge, EMG pickups, and neck through body construction among them — that should appeal to both the existing PRS player and a new audience and musician. The minimal/unpronounced heel smoothly blends into the body and the deeper, lower cutaway gives easier and smoother accessibility to the upper frets while the pick-ups provide power, clarity, and definition. These features all contribute to the Torero’s notable sustain, and the bound ebony fretboard with jumbo frets and no inlays paired with a mahogany body and flame-maple veneer give this guitar a very distinct look.

« 38 » Richard Mortimer and Eunice Foo's Civil Wedding
24th December 2006
A small ceremony was held to celebrate Richard and Eunices Civil Wedding in their backyard at Joondalup, followed by a Chinese Tea Ceremony later in the day. The tea ceremony is the traditional Chinese way of marriage, and the Bride and Groom will kneel before the parents and offer them special tea to gain acceptance in the family. This is followed by offering tea to the older siblings, then the younger siblings repeat the process to the newly weds, to accept their position in the heirarchy of the family. Later during the day they went to Burns Beach to have some photos taken by the Western Australian coastline. The majority of photos included in this set were taken by Leonard Foo, Eunice's brother, which follow the events of the day.

« 40 » Richards new Inlaid Guitar
14th November 2005
Richards birthday present arrives! People chipped in and bought me this inlaid guitar from overseas; depicting a Genie coming out from a Lamp. The guitar is inlaid with Mother of Pearl and Abalone to give the striking image, which is hard to pick up with the camera.
