Today we left Perth at around 5PM local time to go to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. We flew with Malaysia Airways on a Boeing 777-200 and arrived just after 10PM local time. The airport was unusally quiet, and we put this down to the fact that the Chinese New Year had already started. Chinese celebrate the eve of the New Year with a celebratory dinner to catch up with friends and family.

We arrived at Lawrence and Babe's place at around midnight, and did a catch up talk about things that had been happening since the last time we had seen each other. Fireworks were shooting off in the distance which we could see from their apartment on the 7th floor, as others celebrated their New Year in that fashion.
