Nice work there, Cam - I like the way you've routed a small groove for the power. I've seen others use different methods and yours seems the neatest so far. _________________ ![]() |

What's the paint you used? The stuff on my HO routed track doesn't seem sticky enough ... _________________ ![]() |

Re: 32nd Rally track gets upgrades !
its called Stone Finish, by Solaguard was about $15 or so from bunnings for 500ml, might be a little coarse for HO ? |

Hi Cam, Iam a newbie here on his site, i noticed that you are using photo interrupters for your timing sensors, do you happen to have the wiring diagram for installation, i run lap timer 2000 on my ninco track and would like to install photo interrupters as the timing sensors. Hope you can help , Thanks Bill |

Re: 32nd Rally track gets upgrades !
Hi Bill, Welcome ! The photo interruptos are a little more difficult than reeds but only because there is a LED in there, the LED should be set up so that has a resistor in series with the power supply, just like a normal LED. So typically 1.5k or so is probably good, depends on the devices you go. The Photo transistor needs to goto the LPT port the same as the reeds, but it will only work one way, and i always tend to forget which is which ![]() Good Luck ! |

Re: 32nd Rally track gets upgrades !
Looking at this pic, I'd say pin 1 goes to the +12v with a 1k5 resistor, pin 2 goes to ground, pin 3 goes to the + side of the D25 connector (pin 10, 11, 12, etc) and pin 4 goes to the ground of the D25 connector (pin 25, 24, 23, etc) ... ![]() _________________ ![]() |
