Very Simple Gauss (Magnetic Field) Meter
http://www.web-ee.com/Schematics/GaussMeter/GaussMeter.htm I made one of these, extremely easy to follow, and VERY cheap. Prob not even $5 worth of bits.. assuming you have a multi meter already ($10). most important thing when comparing magnets is to place them in exactly the same place each time, I may embed the Hall Effect sensor in plaster or resin which accepts the magnet shape. Enjoy! |

Re: Very Simple Gauss (Magnetic Field) Meter
can i see yours Dave when i come down to race. I would like to make myself one of these to match mags (not just HO scale either!), so i geuss i wouldn't need a calibrated hall effect device! I admit, with no formal training, i get a bit lost in electronics (rather than electrics). |
