Tomy Super G Plus Failures
hmm, not sure what the go is with these cars !

I bought one yesterday from the Infamous Toy World at Canning Vale and it has a broken chassis ! So this makes it the 4th one of these i've bought brand new and the 2nd one i've had to return ! thats a 50% failure rate !!

Anyone else having these problems ??

Hi Cam.
I've only had this problem after racing the car a few times. There seem to be 2 or 3 common failure points. I can't say I've ever bouht a broken one though.

You should consider using the BSRT chassis from Richo and forgetting the SG+ chassis ever existed.
That said, I found my SG+ chassis handled better at Kev's than the BSRT so that's what I used (Very Strange????)

I've bought about 3 SG+'s new and never had a problem ... maybe I'm not pushing them hard enough

Re: Tomy Super G Plus Failures
it is becoming quite common these days, others are getting broken cars in packs too..

the BSRT chassis is great, but perhaps a bit 'tight', lots of racers use a smaller diam. Tyco axle in the rear to free it up.

But it just shouldn't happen that cars are busted even before use

And Toy Traders don't give a rat's XXXX

Re: Tomy Super G Plus Failures
well they must have a large mark up on them, with a 50% failure rate you need 100% mark up to break even !

How much do these cars really cost cost ??
for us $20-25
retailers probably make $5-10 on them.
so they probably cost them about $15
if toy traders is putting 100% on them they are $7.50 inc shipping from china! And i cant see TT putting less than 100% on them, more likly more ! so they probably cost between $2.5-$5 to TT

i think if we could buy them at $5ea i'd buy a few, hell at $10ea i'd buy more !

Next time we're in Malaysia, I'll be looking at the prices - I think somewhere like Tesco will sell them ... and if they're that cheap, I'll ditch the boxes and bodies and bring back a stack of SG+ chassis
