"Cars" slot car set
Anyone know about this set? On special at Target for $35 at the moment, and looks like a Tyco from the controllers ... ? _________________ |

Your right, what was once called Tyco, now Mattel. Seen them for sale in the States before but not Oz. But watch out these cars run on lower voltages and will not like the volts we run cars on. They have been produced to run on batteries and are sold with a lower power transformer. Check out the details http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BN62KI/102-3836047-6964931?v=glance |

Ahh, was wondering what that 'mountain' thing was ... !! Yer, I had some cheap chinese brand slot car that I got as part of an AFX set from eBay a while ago. Running them on a wall-wart pack gave a funny burning smell, they much preffered the lower voltage of 4 x C cells (ie 6 volts). Ended up giving this set to my nephews for a pressie, along with the 5 cars the guy gave me. I still see some cheap parts come up on eBay, might buy them some extra bits one day .... _________________ |
