My favourite...

Was looking on eBay for stickers when I came across the 'Ban Citgo/Boycott Citgo' item. I prefer to use the 'capitalist blindness' tactic and love 'em all the same...

Depending on where you went in the USA, you will also find that IGA (oh so local to us Aussies... ) has shops and petrol stations over there. We fell for it again...

I think you're making them in 1/24th and shrinking them in the oven - they look damn good!!!

I still have the two Volvos to finish up, but had to find some more of the good masking film I like using.

They look like a darn site difficult to do with their size being so small. But yeah, definitely a lot more succesful than some of my larger paints. Now there I can tell a few horror stories... (HQ, meet fist... )

So what is that masking film? Got a brand name or where it can be purchased from?

I get the stuff for free each year from the Super Model Car Sunday people for entering. Mind you, I best find some in stock soon, I run out very quick this year...

Stanbridges I imagine. Maybe Ace Hobbies in Midland also...

hey guys, try some stuff called Maskol a purple latex type stuff that you paint on (available from good hobby stores). Might be a bit easier for do HO cars.

Richard did mention this at Geoff's when I was picking and paying for bodies, but then I was never a dab hand at hand painting...

Each to their own I suppose.

My method is simple masking film. Cut to shape, stick it on and Bob's your uncle...

Parma FasMask works ok, but gotta put it on thick. Tends t olift a bit when you cut it too, but still pretty good.

Dave, I've seen the film you guys use - might try and get some methinks.

Masking isn't worth doing unless spraying, or for intricate work.

Re: Some critical acclaim required...
Are the HKS/Firestone/Citgo masks? Or Decals applied afterwards??

Re: Some critical acclaim required...
Some handy dandy stickers and decals I have collected over time. I have a lot as I normally paint new bodies up a fair bit.

The HKS ones are Chinese. Remind me to bring the envelope they came in. Was a pretty busy looking thing...

Re: Some critical acclaim required...
Yeah, they are stickers.

One of today's efforts. Not HO, as I couldn't face the Volvos just yet. I have done the detailing of them though. One is a normal Volvo front and the second one is based on a Mercedes 190E DTM.

Oh bugger, they can't take me HQ, surely no? Anything but my HQ...

Wish I was demonstrating my 300C hardbody instead. Im not so fussed if that got in the hands of Bazillionaire Bill himself...
