Re: Plexi-glass bridge
what is the direction of travel?
even though sight may be increased, marshalability remains questionable.

Re: Plexi-glass bridge
what a brilliant layout traveling on the over pass with nice curves would make for pretty fast decent back on to the long straight ..or into the twisty curves.. bridge with 3 underpasses..nice maximisation

Your track Richard?

Where's my invite?

Looks as good an excuse as any to pack up some cars , the controller and go on vacation!

Re: Plexi-glass bridge
Not mine, unfortunately - I was planning on making a smaller perspex bridge, but it was too cost prohibitive ... my track build is documented here: http://routedtrack.hobby-site.com/ or you can look through this forum (it was originally called Marathon Raceway - but I changed the name somewhere towards the end of the build).

So these pics were for inspiration, the guy who built this (in the USA) works in a plastics place, which is why he has the great bridge, and the custom 'bits holder' next to the controller. I seem to remember it's something like "Carter International Speedway".

Cheers

Richard

Re: Plexi-glass bridge
I would have said marshallability would have been no more a problem than usual. Looks like a lot of fast flowing corners that shouldn't trouble the quick cars. The chicanes and the end turns would probably have two, perhaps three. Six people to marshal, with things going right.

Ed

While we can't invite you to race on this track, if you are ever heading over here to Perth make sure you do pack your cars. With a bit of notice I am sure we could arrange a chance to give them a bit of a run. I would like to see how your cars perform.

Regards Geoff

Re: Plexi-glass bridge
this is the second..maybe 3rd coolest thing evAR. except i'm just so much cooler an ENTIRE track made from plexi (or something else similar that's also see thru)--that's what i'm thinking. with embeded LEDs. lots and lots of over and unders, ups, downs, splits, near misses, and even a couple inside outs. and don't forget the dinosaurs !

Re: Plexi-glass bridge
obviously routed, i only do design no actual WORK. throw in a couple barrel roll type dealios, sans magnets muuahahahaha

silly dave, the thread is about the bridge, but i think "over and unders" should cover bridges.

oh i gotcha. BRIDGE !!

i totally dig a track from here to perth. there's these cool big trees somewhere in WA, i think an elevated track (a la Ewok village) would be rad. or a complete Temple of Doom railway car chase track. cam agreed to do all the work, so we're going to make one when we have room.
