March - Championship Racing at Kev's
March 8th we are off to Kev's for a days racing and serious racing it will be. We are racing for points.

I plan to have the race format worked out and published in a day or so. Check back then for more details.

Kev's place is down Armadale way so anyone from around that area who is interested, it is your chance to drop around and check out the racing. Drop me a line if you are interested.

Re: March - Championship Racing at Kev's
I was down at Kev's place today. He has built himself a nice big table for building slot car tracks on, no more marshalling on the ground. Mobile so he can take it anywhere for racing.

Kev and Chris are working on a track layout so all should be ready for racing in two weeks. We will need to add kerbing and some plastic to keep the cars on the table but that is under control.

Looking forward to running a full days racing on the 4 lane track. All 4 classes in Championship mode. He can even get us a deal for cheap pizzas in the evening.

Hi Geoff,

I'll be coming down on the day, and will bring my routed test track for those that want to inspect and get some ideas; will there be room down there to set it up? It's small (1200 x 900 mm) so doesn't require too much room.

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

Kev has a long carport down the side of his house. The track is going about middle so there is space at both ends and will still be out of the sun. I look forward to seeing it.

Geoff

Re: March - Championship Racing at Kev's
They've stood up to most cars I've put on there, including LifeLike M/L class, and a Storm ... the rails are held in by the locking wire (ie no glue), but everything seems fairly secure. But we'll give it a go!!!

Cheers

Richard

Kev has invited anyone who wants a bit of practice along to a session on Monday afternoon.

Your chance to go along and have a sneak preview of the track. Get a jump on everyone else.

From 2:00pm onwards.

Re: March - Championship Racing at Kev's
Anyone NOR want to get a posse together to car pool down to Kevs?
Geoff has a seat left but says he will be arriving early and leaving late (after RO's).
Karl and T might have a full car with their troops.
Cam and Em might have seats available, but they might race RO's.
That leaves Richard and Nod. Do you guys wanna get together for the trip? I'll email Nod.

I have attached the basic layout for Kevs track. It isnt exact but Drew has the full specs (wants to make it into a 6 laner!!!).

Hi Chad,

I might be bringing my step-father down as he was keen to see some racing; happy to give you a lift either way as I'll be getting there around 11.30am and leaving before the R/O (if the step-father comes).

Send me a private message with your home and mobile number, as I don't have them.

Cheers

Richard

Also Bill is planning to come from Joondalup way. Bill, not sure if you are interested in getting/giving a lift but let people know if you are.

As Chad said, I have one spare seat but I do try and get there early and I always seem to be one of the last to leave.

If anyone is interested let me know.

I've only got the one seat, and the toolbox occupies that, so...

Re: March - Championship Racing at Kev's
That was a winner of a track in my book. Was nice and flowing, just the kind I like to throw a TJet around.

Another gem in the can. Let's see who gets some nice penalties for next Turbo race.

EDIT: If anyone was a bit confused as to my late exit from the Turbo list was that I put the Turbo car back together to find the rear tyres were, well, what the relationship a tree has to the ground (rooted) for instance. I think I would rather concentrate on T-Jet class racing personally as I find I don't enjoy driving the faster classes of late. I can relate to near non-magnetic style of cornering but have an absolute lack of talent come the grippier stuff.
