Re: May - Racing at XLR8
sounds good. To make it fit on 3600x1500, which we have to work on, it will have to probably look something like this.
17 x 12" curves!!!!!!!!!

Chad,

I'm at work at the moment with no access to T2k - any chance you can post images of the designs in JPG?

Cheers

Richard

Re: May - Racing at XLR8
that one /\ use only 11 x 12" curves but 23 x 6"'s! The problem is, if you want to use less 12's, you have to use more 6's! Do you think that will be a problem?

Re: May - Racing at XLR8
Pleasant change away from hairpins, should be a very fast and flowing layout, whatever we go with.

Updated the website front page with a link to here, best behaviour ta.

Ah, the technical terms of a slotcar navvie...

For those without an engineering degree, what does the cool double back bit do?

Re: May - Racing at XLR8
from someone who ALMOST has an engineering degree :

the bit in the middle of that there picture.

I think it should be left in as in the pic, RO cars can easily handle 6" corners, even 3" hairpins. Plus it makes it much better for the OTHER 3 CLASSES , otherwise it'd be too boring.
The entire outside run plus another long straight caters for the high speed bits.

Besides, the bit in the middle is what sets this track apart

....or this (31x6inchers and 13x12inchers). or we could put a 3" hairpin in, change the length of the straights, etc. Just seeing what we could do in the space.

Ah yes, definitely got the idea now. They do look good.

Oh, forgot to mention, I have left my box of track bits there as of Friday.

Re: May - Racing at XLR8
Hey that's great, the most favourite table sizes for tracks in the states seems to be 16' x 4' . Now to extend my tables so we can do an exact copy.

Now which track can we get race details, lap records etc.

I probably bring the tables on set-up day. I have picked up the track pieces so we have more than enough to build most layouts.
