December racing (and having a good time...)
Hi all,

Once again Kay has offered to have us all at our place for the December Race meet. I am planning a couple of fun events.

The first question is date.

I am busy on the 12th which means it will have to be either the 5th or 19th. I would prefer the 19th but it is close to Christmas. So here is your chance to say what you would prefer.

We will make a final decision on Saturday but now is your chance to have your say.

Wake up Geoff

just wondering if we're racing on the 5th or the 19th.

Either way I need to get up your way sometime soon and deliver some more drag bodies.

Have now done a widened version of the Pro Stock car

Re: December racing (and having a good time...)
As was decided at Cam's Racing is December the 5th.

NEXT SATURDAY. Yep that close. December 5th.

We are racing all day and into the evening. And everyone is welcomed.

Casual low key slot car fun in the morning from around 10:30. We plan to build a large Oval track.

We will put some snags on the BBQ around 12:00.

In the afternoon we will have some high energy fun race events. Something a bit different that everyone can join in.

As usual Kay is cooking us a meal for dinner and as usual a plate would be appreciated.

In the evening we are firing up Dave's new drag strip. Racing on that will go late into the evening so stay around and join the fun.

All through the day the pool is available so if it is hot bring your bathers and have a dip.

Please RSVP now and let us know when you are going to be here, how many extras are coming, and what is going to be on the plate. (We don't need a dozen potato salads, so we let you know if your idea is already taken. We do have a potato salad already. Thanks Kim).

So bring your slot cars, bring your newly painted Drag Car (Dave has extra bodies if you need some.), bring your drinks, bring your bathers. The family is welcomed either for the day or just for part of it.

Re: December racing (and having a good time...)
let me know if there are any glitches with the drag software, i'll endevour to get them fixed.
make sure to get some pics of the strip!!

There are a couple of 1/32-1/24th strips here in Adelaide. They are ferradore and they're not interested in goo or spongies! ahhhh, a challenge. Maybe i could get Bruce Laker to build me up some of those little clutches! It might be conducive (sp) to try an idea i've always had.......solder hoses onto the brush hoods and jet CO2 directly onto the trailing edge of the brushes (to try and stop the arcing).

Dropped off some more Drag bodies at Geoff's, couple of variations too, including the widened Pro Stock.

No glitches

The speed trap gives the wrong speeds, but they can at least give comparisons between cars.

Any chance you could email Craig B. and ask what the exact speed trap distance is on the Xtreme strip?
With that, I can calculate the actual speeds the HO cars are doing
(my guess is maybe up to 30km/h... )

Eunice, Jai and I will be coming; although I'd suggest it will only be for a couple of hours around the midday part of the day (all my cars are tuned for the 'go slow' race again )

Cheers

If it's consistently slow, you could win Elimination style drag races

Yes, thanks to G+K, sorry our stay was short, but it was enjoyable (apart from getting pipped in the Turbos by Cam!).

Eunice, Jai and I wish everyone the best for Xmas and the New Year, and look forward to catching up sometime in '10!!

Cheers

Richard
